Looking for a Fun Summer Activity? Try Picking Your Own Berries!
Sometimes its hard to come up with unique summer activities and if you haven't tried a u-pick farm, I highly recommend it, especially since Seattle Magazine put out a wonderful article outlining not only the best u-pick farms, but plenty of summer berry festivals and of course how to handle the fruits of your labor.
July promises to be berry filled and here are the festivals I'm most looking forward to:
Rhubarb Days in Sumner take place July 12-13 and will include a pie-eating contest, a pancake breakfast, a bake-off and plenty of fun for the kids.
The Lynden Raspberry Festival is July 18-19 and boasts a street market, live music, and a 5K race. If you make it between 7-11 a.m. on the 19th be ready for incomparable all-you-can-eat raspberry pancake breakfast!
